  • The role of the School Leader is to oversee all instructional, operational, and community initiatives. The School Leader must ensure that high standards of excellence are maintained by building a motivated, skilled team of teachers, developing a strong academic program, engaging the families in their child’s education as well as creating a positive, achievement-oriented school culture.


Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Set ambitious goals for student achievement along with teachers for each class and subject.
  • To oversee planning, curriculum and instructional development for teachers in a timely and meaningful manner.
  • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback to teachers and Conduct professional development trainings around effective instruction.
  • To ensure high-quality training for the teachers throughout the academic year.
  • To model effective lessons and instructional strategies
  • To oversee the collection and analysis of student data to drive school initiatives.
  • To ensure documentation and collection of effective plans/other resources from teachers.
  • To oversee the implementation of a wide array of enrichment opportunities for students.
  • To oversee design of the parent engagement plan for the year.
  • To conduct an effective parent orientation with the social worker at the start of each year.
  • Work with social worker to ensure opportunities for parent engagement within the school community and SMC meetings.
  • To oversee that the social worker is able to develop the team of helpers in each school.
  • To manage the operations and logistics of the school.To maintain positive relationships with school-based government officials.
  • To execute performance management system for all school-based staff.
  • To oversee the school budget throughout the year.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Education


Minimum Experience


  • With 5-7 years of teaching experience.
  • Clarity of pedagogical concepts.
  • Fluency in English.


  • Experience in school leadership.
  • Fluency in Hindi and Marathi to be able to communicate with families and government officials.
  • Experience training teachers (theory, classroom application and feedback).
  • Experience in developing and documenting curriculum.
  • Familiarity with contemporary issues in Indian education.
  • Willingness to travel for professional development periodically


  • Ability to assign tasks, manage and build a rapport with school staff and team.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated, persevering, achievement-oriented attitude.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Flexibility in planning and working with a team.
